Doctorbird Scouts are girls in Grades 3-6.

Who can be a Doctorbird?

You can be Doctorbird Scout if you are a girl who is in grades 3 to 6 in school.  If you are new to scouting you must have attended Troop Meetings for at least four weeks before making the Promise.  During this period you are called a Recruit. For a Peenie Wallie, flying up, you may renew your promise as soon as the ceremony can be arranged.

The Doctorbird Promise

On my honour,
I promise that I will do my best:

To do my duty to God,
To serve my country and help other people,
And to obey the Doctorbird Law

The Doctorbird Eight Points

The girls have a balanced and varied programme which is organized in eight areas called eight points. They are as follows:

Let's be Aware
Let's get Physical
Let's do it Right
Let's Create
Let's Love
Let's Serve
Let's do Homecraft
Let's enjoy our Environment

The Promise Pin is pictured below.

The Fleur-de-lis is significant for two reasons. In early christianity it represented the Holy Spirirt. In Scouting it represents the three parts of the promise, "Duty to God", Service to Man", Obedience to the Law".

The Doctorbird Law

A Doctorbird thinks of others before herself
and does a good turn everyday

The Doctorbird Journeys

The girls have two challenges set in each of the eight points. They have to complete a total of 12 challenges, with at least one from each of the eight points, in each of the journeys they travel. Each journey takes approximately a year to complete. The first journey is along the Footpath, followed by a journey on the Road, and finally a journey on the Highway.
